Silence. Nothing but silence in the blackness. Then, a light. A single rune carves itself in magical fire. Then another, and again and again. A gate forms between the runes and opens. The mage Naglafashi steps into the darkness. A large tome, heavy in his hand sets firmly against his side, covered in like symbols. “Finally… A world all my own! And it is mine to shape! I will be as a god! Now, to bring out my base of operations…” his hand moves like lightning and with a flash a rune circle appears on the ground, a tower rising from it before it disappears.

“Now! Let us have a great field!” the stillness of the dimension is un-phased by his words. “Why does it not obey me! I am it’s ruler!” He opens the book, quickly flipping through it’s age worn pages. Then he stops.

The page reads: Rip the fabric of the void, then unleash the creators 17. The first to summon, the epicenter of all, he to which magic yields it’s will. The 16 others, mortal men, to summon warriors to their side, for lands unknown need creative hands, and a warriors spirit to light it’s soul. Through battle, lands will gain their life, and through life, begin the gears of fate. Thus it is written, thus it shall be.

“Tch. Well, no use wasting time… This world shall be complete, and it shall be mine!”



Welcome everyone, to A World in Creation Mini-OCT. You have been called to the creation of a world in a way that only you can truly imagine to gain prizes that linger only at the edge of imagination. From here, you will battle other artists, shaping the world as you go.

The Message:
The message has been sent out. You are invited to join in a most marvelous tournament, the prize, leaving your mark, permanently upon a budding world, and compete for a prize that lingers only on the borders of imagination. This message can be received as a phone call, a note, anything that you could possibly dream of.

However, once you receive it you will be inexplicably drawn to the dimension of Naglafashi, willing or not. Heck it’s even possible that you could be dragged, kicking and screaming, or simply walk through the gate to see what lies beyond. Either way, the more creative you are the better.

You are most likely going to end up at Naglafashi’s tower, it being the only thing actually in existence currently, so draw appropriately.


Summoning Characters and shaping the world:
Naglafashi, or his summon Homunculus will explain (as best he can in Homunculus’s case) that you are to be part of a tremendous battle that will shape this dimension. To not accept would be to be killed, but to lose would simply be to take an outside seat on the events taking place.

Thus you will receive (in some way, most likely it won't be given to you) a tool to summon your OCs. This could be something to draw and design them, pages torn out of a notebook, or even something to directly summon them. (It really is all up to you.)

The max amount of characters you can have summoned is 3, and that includes any that you may have summoned for purposes other than fighting. (ex: Transportation or comic relief)

These characters must also be YOUR OWN. Not knock offs of a TV show, not characters that belong to someone else, and not characters created to mimic other characters.
ALSO, if your characters are able to summon other things, they can only be cannon fodder types of creatures. For example: If Girim the Archwizard can summon Ignis, Warrior Lord of the undead to fight for him, Ignis would also count as one of your 3 summons.

This world has been waiting for you, and will react to even the motion of your thoughts unless you shape it in a more permanent manner (which could make for some rather Chaotic but also rather fun battle scenes to draw, although setting the playing field will give you more control over it but decrease your creative energy (how this works, you can decide, after all everyone is different).

ALSO: constantly making the same type of field is a good way to incur the wrath of the main Wizard in charge of magic. After all, he wants this to be a varied world, if he is going to rule it!

Examples of fields, including a few I would very much like to see:
Clockwork Catacombs
Symbol: gear (a mechanical place, most likely filled with traps and doors)

Duskline
symbol: circle with a spiral into the center (a place of darkness, but also of meditation)

NOTE: Please don’t make environments that others can’t survive in without specialized equipment. That is just plain cruel and will be looked down upon.

Basic rules:
1.Have fun! If you aren’t then you are either dissecting it too much or are in the wrong place.

2.No Godmoding… What exactly do I mean by this? No adding on powers to your characters. Best example is when you were playing cowboys and Indians and there was always that one kid that after he got shot, would say he has a power shield. It’s stupid and will not be tolerated.

3.No personal attacks… Please don’t, I realize that people get mad at others, but don’t deliberately attack them because of it. This is a tournament made so that we can all just have fun battling it out with our characters. If someone begins throwing insults about then that destroys the entire point of the tournament.

4.ALL CHARACTERS MUST BE ORIGIONAL. If they are from an existing series, or are similar enough (related, etc.) they WILL NOT be accepted.

This last one is a bit of a guideline but, please… Don’t go OCD on these characters trying to make them perfect. We know that you aren’t necessarily the creator of these, so please just draw them as well as you can. Perfection is not a requirement.


Tourney Requirements:
1 Artist Reference sheet, Artist needs to be completely Human, with no extra abilities while competing (except field changes and character summons). Yes, that means magic. It can be any sex, as long as it is Human. Oh, and it only needs to be completely human (and without magic) in THIS DIMENSION. Outside it can be anything under the sky... that is still (hopefully) human enough to look human.

1-3 Character Reference sheets. The characters can be anything from alligator to phoenix, from dragon to Navi (ok not navi... just ORIGIONAL CHARACTERS). Just please keep the powers in the range of beatability… Nobody likes to fight an unbeatable foe.

1-infinity Audition comics. This should detail how you entered the realm, etc.

Deadlines will be set and late work will be an almost guaranteed way to lose the round.

Entrance: Don't be afraid to just ask all of you peoples out there who want to join. If you don't ask by Note or Comment then I WONT KNOW THAT YOU WANT TO JOIN!
